Hi Mirco, I have a carbon saddle imported from China, so it doesn't come with a warranty and, as a result, it's something that can be tampered with in anticipation of any kind of tampering. My request stems from the fact that the saddle is very heavy despite being made of carbon fiber. I should point out that it is a comfortable saddle and, above all, suited to my physical build. My questions are as follows: Can it be made lighter by modifying the frame? As they say in these cases, is it worth the effort? Thank you in advance.
Theoretically and technically, the intervention is possible.
In this specific case, unfortunately, it is not worth the effort, because the modification does not seem to be minor.
It would be necessary to rebuild the saddle from scratch, with the same geometry, and, since there is no specific mold available, a new one would have to be created. Since it would only be used for one saddle and not for mass production, it is not economically viable.
