DoktorBike specializes in two types of products and services:
Carbon Frame and Other Carbon Component Repairs:
We perform:
Repairs on carbon fiber bicycle frames, with the possibility of restoring graphics, visible weave, and paintwork.
We also carry out the repair and/or reinforcement of any other carbon fiber component:
- repair of steerer tubes crushed by excessive bolt tightening
- fork extension
- seat tube extension
- bonding of inserts on unglued bottom brackets
- bonding of dropouts or other components made of materials different from carbon (detached from carbon tubes)
- reconstruction of carbon dropout supports, etc.
Carbon Wheel Repair:
Carbon wheel repair involves a wide variety of interventions. It is possible to perform:
- repair of rims and braking surfaces damaged after accidents, rock impacts, falls, torn spokes, etc., with restoration of graphics (when requested by the customer)
- replacement of 1 or more spokes on Lightweight and Mavic wheels (various wheel models)
- reconstruction of braking surfaces on Lightweight, Mavic Ultimate, Campagnolo Bora wheels (mainly), and other models (to be evaluated case by case)
In many cases, to properly repair the wheels, it is necessary to preemptively release the tension from all the spokes and then retension them afterward, to verify that the repair has been successful. This will be done by a trusted mechanic unless the customer explicitly objects.
N.B.:
Clincher road wheels deformed by the high temperatures generated during braking cannot be repaired.
Warranty
For the vast majority of repairs, a 3-year warranty is issued on the work performed: if any issues related to the repair arise within three years from completion, the bike will be repaired again free of charge, with absolute priority in turnaround time.
In cases involving bonding between different materials, such as aluminum and carbon, the warranty is only 1 year, because the union of different materials always presents some potential issues.
The warranty applies solely and exclusively to the structural work; it does not cover paintwork.
These warranties are not issued only in particular cases, such as repairs never attempted before, for which long-term durability is unknown; in such cases, the customer is always informed before the work begins that it will not be covered by warranty.
To dispel any concerns, it should be noted that if we believe a repair is unlikely to last, we always recommend not proceeding.
It must also be specified that the issued warranty concerns only the structural repair of the item, because years of experience in the field have shown that these repairs are absolutely safe and that the repaired area is not weaker than the original.
Therefore, this warranty does not cover, under any circumstances, damage to property or people caused by accidents or breakages of any kind involving the repaired frame, not even in the (practically impossible) event of an unjustified failure of the repair itself.
Anyone who decides to repair their carbon frame, wheel, or other accessories does so at their own risk.
Having said this, we emphasize that a repaired frame or wheel is in no way more fragile than when it was new from the factory.
Repainting, Full Repaints, and Airbrushing:
All repairs, unless expressly requested otherwise, are completed with repainting of the repaired area, so that the frame appears identical or as close as possible to the original.
For more complex paintwork, we will provide contact details for painters capable of performing the job, unless you already have your own trusted painter.
Full Frame Repainting and Bike Customization:
Alternatively, for those living near Pesaro, this service is also provided by our former collaborator and friend Gianluca Lo Gelfo.

Carbon Frame Protectors:
Carbon protectors are currently available for the most common MTB frames. These protectors are positioned under the down tube and extend to the area beneath the bottom bracket (the points most exposed to rock strikes and impacts during descents).
Protectors are currently available for the following models:
- Trek Procaliber 9.6
- Cannondale FSI
- Specialized Epic HT (2018)
- Scott Scale RC (2018)
Protectors can also be custom-made for any other, even less common, model. In such cases, however, we must have the frame available, since the protectors are created "to measure," molded directly on the frame on which they will be installed.
DoktorBike does not directly manufacture the protectors; they are produced by an external company, Mr Bike Protection. For more information, you may contact us through the usual channels or contact them directly at: 3483834117.
To see previously made protectors, visit our “repairs” link or see the dedicated Facebook page.
Shipping Service:
To send us items for repair, you may use any courier of your choice, or you may use our courier, who can handle both pickup at your location and return delivery once the work is completed.
In any case, you are responsible for packaging the item for outbound shipping.
There are very strict limits (by all couriers) regarding which goods can be insured and which cannot:
USED ITEMS CANNOT BE INSURED, which excludes any frame, wheel, handlebar, or other component, since these are certainly used
ITEMS NOT PACKED BY THE COURIER ITSELF cannot be insured
If you choose to use your own courier and manage to insure at least the outbound shipment, to insure the return as well you must mandatory use your courier again, because any compensation request must be supported by proof of the actual value of the goods damaged during transport, and this can only be demonstrated through an invoice addressed to you.
We cannot insure any return shipment made via our courier.
For these reasons, we decline all responsibility for anything that may happen during transport, both outbound and return.
